Herbivore Inquiry
Following up our predator inquiry we then had to research a herbivore. I chose the sable antelope because I had never heard of it before and it's black hair looked amazing. We had to come up with questions about the animal and find out the answers.
Pick a Path
This term our writing focus has been writing our sustainability pick a path stories. You could choose to work with a partner or not, I chose to work with corbyn. There was a lot of planning involved to get things perfect. To get a pick a path to work you need to link sentences so you can click on the options. There are 4 different endings. See if you can find them all.

Predators and Planets
This term for our inquiry we have been looking at predators and one of our tasks was to make up our own predators and planets for them to live on, my predator is called the darret. It can live on land or in water but prefers water. Its bone at the end of the tail isn't covered up because it is used as weapon. It is 30m long. It is inedible due to scales laced with a poison but that poison is only a last resort defense mechanism. It hunts anything it finds.
The planet 60% water and 40% land. It is 3/4 the size of earth. in the water it is actually clear water but the bioluminescent lights under water make it seem yellowish. The planet is a nice purple colour with lots of plant life but the water is a dangerous place. I haven't painted my mini model of my planet yet but here it is anyway.
And here is the drawing of my predator.
We also had to make a model of the predator using recycling. We are going to use papier mache to make it a smoother surface then we are going to paint them. Here is my model

This term our main sport focus is athletics and as always there is a range of activities such as: shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, 100m sprints, 200m sprints and many more. We haven't trialled the 200, 400 and 800m sprints. We practiced, but also have not trialled for discus, shot put and long jump. I am looking forward to the 200m sprints and I am in the top 8 for the 100m sprints. The athletics day is on Friday the 4th of November.

Trash reading homework
This term for homework we have been reading a book called trash and each person in the reading group has got a job. I have got the artful artist job which means I have to draw a person or event that was introduced while reading the book. This picture is of a character called Raphael who was getting interrogated by some very angry policemen who ended up beating Raphael just to get some answers.

Barbeque Tables Letter
Dear Ms Beaumont
It has come to our class’s attention that our eating area is very unenjoyable. This area is either very uncomfortable on the ground or very hard to socialise on the benches. Room 12B and room 11 got the idea to get some barbeque tables for Sheppard house.
At lunch and interval eating children are getting dirty shorts or dresses also eating on the ground is very unhygienic. The benches are almost impossible to socialise on if someone three spaces away is asking you a question (don’t know how they would) you would actually have to get off your seat to answer them.
Now I know what you’re thinking yeah ok but how are we going to get the money? FUNDRAISE. We don’t even have to take money out of the school we could do things like a car wash, some form of cooking fundraising or we could even do our own sort of william pike challenge (maybe service points could be earned). The possibilities are endless … sort of.
If we get any spare money, that can go towards some things the school has been needing like maybe, new P.E gear or a better, nicer to fall over onto, field. From being a class councillor I have heard people begging for re-painted lines on the netball courts, we could do something about that.
Now do you see that this has to happen. All of Sheppard house would be very appreciative if you took this idea into consideration.

Magnetism - Science tech
Our focus this week in science tech is MAGNETS!!! Magnetism is a very powerful force that can even go through objects. There are 2 different sides to a magnet there is the north and south opposites attract (N+S/S+N) and the same repels (N+N/S+S). Did you know that if you put a magnet on a credit card it messes up the information on it. There are magnets everywhere!

Rube Goldberg
In class we had to make a rube goldberg machine. We used a tube, a hockey ball, some dominos, book's, marbles, beans, pineapple lumps, a desk, a chair and a golf ball. We all had to work together and problem solve because we couldn't get it straight away but with everyone's ideas contributed we managed to complete the task. It took us about 17 goes to get our one to work. But we persisted though and we eventually got it done, and it was quite good. Although there were pineapple on the line we had to contain ourselves and wait until our machine was successful.

Practise Speech
To practice for the
Drawing!
Introduction: Why is drawing so great? Well it is a way to let your imagination run free. Express your feelings with just one small utensil. It’s great really I do it myself a little.
Point 1 :Some people say things like ‘my drawing looks like a duck when it’s meant to be a brick’ or ‘I just can’t do this!’ but with practise you can make it much more, like a brick you can change into a house maybe a single duck into a flock of ducks you just need to practise.
Point 2: If kids don’t like what they draw then they don’t like drawing and I’m fine with that. But for the people that do like drawing if they practise they get better then they’re going to want to draw a lot more in school time like myself of course.
What should be done: So that brings me to my main point, I think in every class we should have at least 2 hours a week of drawing time as a break from the schoolwork and as an exercise for the brain. It will be great fun and the students will like you even more.
Conclusion: So will ya say it Mr Billings! Or just let the idea slide away. Please make the right choice. (whisper) Here’s a hint it’s not the second one. (thumbs up)

Quick write - 5 words that totally make sense
Yesterday we wrote a story about a picture of an explosion and wrecked cars. It had to include 5 words that had nothing to do with the picture these word were : fun, run, Billings, unicorn and santa. As you can already tell these stories are going to be super strange any way here is the photo.
It was a really fun day for the billings family they were just coming back from a nice christmas holiday day at the beach until a GIANT RAINBOW UNICORN CAME CHARGING RIGHT THROUGH THE CAR! Mr Billings said “ hey it granted my one wish, to have beautiful flowing golden locks!” Mrs Billings looked at Mr billings with a frown then Mr Billings chuckled in fear “ and for all of us to be safe of course heh heh”
Mr billings son said “wow that Unicorn must’ve had a good run to get that much of a pace”
“wiw we stiw get home in tiwme faw santa?” asked the little 1 year old daughter”
“ Of course we will” said Mrs Billings. And they did and it was a great christmas and they had a funny story to tell afterwards.

Place Value Maths Game
Yesterday our class played a maths game called wishball which really tested our place value knowledge. The aim of the game is to reach a randomized number by adding or subtracting a random number. I completed ultimate challenge mode in 5 TURNS!
First writing sample
A fer days ago we did our first writing this year. Our writing could be about anything we wanted I managed to do 2 stories hope you enjoy
Number 1
Sometimes I wonder to myself what will the people, the cities, THE WHOLE WORLD! look like in another two thousand years. Will aliens end up being proved to be real, and at that not what you would call friendly. Will countries be wiped out thanks to global warming and most of all… will I get a pie? so many questions so many answers. I think I know the answer to one of those questions yes I will end up getting a pie… (gobble)(smack) sho what do (munch) what do you shink will (crunch) happen in shay two shoushand yearsh. MMM that was a good pie, I know we won’t be alive in that time but maybe just maybe I could find out what would happen in the 41st century. Then again things still could get just as interesting things would be in two thousand years scientists could create a super serum that lets people do things out of the ordinary like lift people out of rubble in disasters or hover cars could be the new way to travel. Some people would say I’m not the deepest of thinkers but, those are my thoughts about the future. My brain is still asleep so some of my theories may not make sense like me my brain is still adjusting to the intermediate level and that's all for now bye!
NUMBER 2!
Cameron Divato was a spanish Wrestler who was the greatest of the greats until one day … something … went … wrong! Divato’s style is well, some people would say is ‘different’ and who Divato thought was his greatest ally turned out to be his greatest threat. In the 1998 El spainio belt championship finals Divato faced his ‘ally’ the great Samino. It was an intense match and Divato got Samino in his grasp for the devil death. Everyone thought Samino was doomed, until Samino did the signal for time out to the ref the ref unwillingly said stop! Divato was confused then Samino did something UNEXPECTED, he said in slow breaths “this man … has used … a banned injection!” everyone in the crowd gasped. At that moment Divato knew he had been betrayed by his best friend and then he remembered Samino said he needed to go the bathroom when had already been 3 minutes ago Samino used the injection not Divato! Divato was in too much shock to say anything later he got banned from wrestling and the belt went to Samino. Divato was in rage. About 4 months after the mishap he donned a costume and cape and used his skill for defending the helpless instead of for winning money and prizes.
